The Huawei S5731-S24P4X is a high-performance, next-generation gigabit Ethernet switch designed for enterprise and campus network deployments, offering flexible PoE+ access ports and 10GE uplinks. It features 24 × 10/100/1000Base-T PoE+ ports and 4 × 10GE SFP+ ports, with a compact 1U chassis measuring 442 mm × 420 mm × 43.6 mm and weighing 8.6 kg including packaging. The switch supports a 1000 W pluggable AC PoE power supply, with rated AC input voltage ranging from 100 V to 240 V AC at 50/60 Hz and a maximum input range of 90 V to 290 V AC. High-voltage DC input is supported from 190 V to 290 V DC. Maximum power consumption is 121 W without PD and 977 W with PD, including 720 W PD power consumption.

The device operates efficiently with air cooling, intelligent fan speed adjustment, and pluggable fans. Noise levels under normal conditions are 52.8 dB(A) sound pressure and 62.3 dB(A) sound power, rising under high-temperature conditions to 71.8 dB(A) sound power. Operating temperature ranges from -5°C to 45°C at altitudes up to 1800 m, decreasing by 1°C per 220 m above 1800 m, with a storage range of -40°C to 70°C and relative humidity of 5% to 95% non-condensing. The switch includes surge protection: ±6 kV for service ports (common mode) and ±6 kV for power ports (differential and common mode).

MAC and VLAN features include support for 32K MAC address entries, static/dynamic/blackhole entries, MAC-based packet filtering, 4094 VLANs, guest VLANs, voice VLANs, GVRP, MUX VLAN, VLAN assignment based on MAC, protocol, IP subnet, policy, and port, and VLAN mapping. Ethernet loop protection is provided through RRPP, Smart Link, SEP, ERPS (G.8032), and BFD for OSPF, IS-IS, VRRP, and PIM. Spanning tree protocols supported include STP, RSTP, MSTP, with BPDU, root, and loop protection.

Routing capabilities include static routing, RIP v1/v2, RIPng, OSPF/OSPFv3, IS-IS/IS-ISv6, BGP/BGP4+, ECMP, and routing policies, supporting up to 16K FIBv4 and 8K FIBv6 entries. The switch interoperates with VBST, LNP, and VCMP protocols. IPv6 features include ND entries, PMTU, IPv6 Ping, Tracert, Telnet, ACLs, MLD snooping, VRRP6, DHCPv6, and L3VPN support.

Multicast support includes IGMP v1/v2/v3 snooping, IGMP fast leave, multicast forwarding within VLANs and between VLANs, load balancing among trunk member ports, controllable multicast, port-based multicast statistics, PIM-SM, PIM-DM, PIM-SSM, MSDP, and MVPN.

QoS and ACL features include inbound/outbound rate limiting, packet redirection, traffic policing, two-rate three-color CAR, eight queues per port, DRR, SP, DRR+SP scheduling algorithms, WRED, 802.1p and DSCP remarking, Layer 2–4 packet filtering, and queue-based shaping.

Security features include hierarchical user management, password protection, DoS/ARP/ICMP attack defense, IP-MAC-port-VLAN binding, port isolation, port security, sticky MAC, MAC Forced Forwarding, blackhole MAC entries, MAC learning limits, IEEE 802.1x, AAA, RADIUS, HWTACACS, NAC, SSH V2.0, HTTPS, CPU protection, blacklists/whitelists, IPv6 packet attack tracing, Secure Boot, IPSec, ECA, and deception.

Reliability features include LACP, E-trunk, Ethernet OAM (IEEE 802.3ah/802.1ag), ITU-Y.1731, DLDP, LLDP, and BFD for BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, and static routes.

Advanced features include VXLAN L2/L3 gateways, centralized/distributed gateways, BGP-EVPN, Super Virtual Fabric (SVF) with two-layer client architecture, plug-and-play SVF clients, third-party device support, and iPCA for real-time packet loss statistics. TWAMP support allows two-way IP link performance measurement including delay, packet loss, and jitter.

Management and maintenance features include iStack (up to 9 switches), SNMP v1/v2c/v3, RMON, Smart Application Control (SAC), web-based NMS, system logs and alarms, GVRP, MUX VLAN, NetStream, and intelligent O&M tools.

This combination of advanced hardware, flexible network features, comprehensive security, and robust management makes the S5731-S24P4X ideal for enterprise access, aggregation, and campus network deployments.
