The Allied Telesis IS230 Series Industrial Managed Switches deliver rugged and reliable performance in harsh environments — making them ideal for outdoor IoT, transportation, and industrial applications.
Designed as a multipurpose line of managed Layer 2 switches, the IS230 Series is perfectly suited for industrial deployments, including manufacturing, rail transportation (telecommunication and signaling), road transportation (traffic control), and Smart City infrastructures.
With a fanless design and a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 75°C, these switches are built to withstand the demanding conditions of industrial and outdoor environments.
An integrated voltage regulator ensures that PoE output voltage consistently remains at its rated value, even when input voltage fluctuates. Additionally, the extended input voltage range makes the IS230 Series ideal for traffic control cabinet installations.
Network Resiliency
The IS230 Series offers highly stable and reliable network switching. Using the X-Ring protocol, users can prevent network connection failures — with network recovery occurring in as little as 20ms.
It supports couple-ring, dual-ring, and dual-homing topologies. Dual-homing is available even if the connected network operates a different ring protection protocol such as RSTP or STP.
Securing the Network Edge
To ensure data protection, the IS230 Series controls network access through IEEE 802.1X port-based authentication, allowing only authorized users to connect.
Unknown users can be isolated to a predefined guest network, providing Internet access while maintaining the integrity of private data.
Quality of Service (QoS)
Comprehensive wire-speed QoS delivers advanced flow-based traffic management with Port/Tag-based and Type of Service (ToS) prioritization.
Bandwidth control effectively limits ingress and egress traffic, as well as broadcast, multicast, and flooded unicast packets, ensuring smooth and efficient network performance.
Gigabit and Fast Ethernet
The IS230 Series features combo ports that support both Gigabit and Fast Ethernet Small Form-Factor Pluggables (SFPs).
This flexibility enables organizations to upgrade to faster technologies while remaining cost-effective and compatible with existing infrastructure.
Configurable Power Budget
On PoE-sourcing IS230 switches, all LAN ports support PoE+ up to 30W per port.
Users can configure both the overall power budget and per-port power limits, allowing precise control that aligns with the capabilities of the external Power Supply Unit (PSU).
Dual Power Inputs
The IS230 Series includes redundant power inputs to enhance system reliability.
These inputs are protected against reverse polarity and over-current, ensuring continuous, stable operation even under power fluctuations.
